Best NBA Player Props for May 6, 2024

BEST NBA PLAYER PROPS FOR MAY 6 2024 – The second round of the playoffs is underway, and the matchups are getting good. The Timberwolves beat the Nuggets, 106-99, in game one to steal one on the road.

The Thunder and Mavericks will face off on Tuesday as their series begin. The Pacers and Knicks will kick off things for the Eastern Conference on Monday, with the Celtics and Cavaliers set to start on Tuesday. I’ll give some of the best player props for the two games on Monday!

Mitchell Robinson Over 7.5 Rebounds +124

The first prop I will target is a rebound prop for a player who did not face this team during the regular season. Mitchell Robinson was injured for much of the season, from mid-December until he returned in late March. He missed the Knicks three matchups with the Pacers, where they went 1-2.

Robinson is averaging 20.6 minutes per game this postseason and is playing in a rotation with Isaiah Hartenstein. He averaged 7.8 rebounds against the 76ers and 8.5 in the regular season. He will be matched against Myles Turner (33.3 MPG) or Obi Toppin (19.3 MPG) and has the physicality advantage over both. Tom Thibodeau should use him about the same amount in this series, especially if Hartenstein gets into foul trouble. It is a good number for a stat that should come easy to him.

Isaiah Hartenstein Over 2.5 Assists -130

I briefly mentioned Hartenstein when talking about Robinson above. He started all six games against the 76ers and played in a rotation with Robinson. Thibodeau generally runs the same rotations and expects lots of minutes from his players. He utilizes more of a rotation at the center because they get tired. Hartenstein played about 34 minutes per game against the Pacers in the regular season, mainly because they were thin at the position.

He is playing 26.3 MPG in the postseason and is averaging 2.7 assists per game. He averaged six assists per game against Indiana in the regular season and is adept at creating opportunities for his teammates. The Pacers like to push the pace, so there should be more possessions per game in this series, and Hartenstein has a great matchup against Myles Turner. Turner has a defensive rating of 115.5, below average for centers. Expect him to hit this number and get there even with foul trouble.

Anthony Edwards Over 5.5 Assists +114

Anthony Edwards torched the Nuggets in game one with 43 points. He shot 59% from the field and had seven rebounds and three assists. The Nuggets will not allow that to happen again, especially at home. They must win one of these two home games if they want a chance in this series. One of the adjustments I expect them to make is making it hard for Mike Conley, who had 10 assists.

The Nuggets head coach acknowledged that Edwards will get his points. The thing he was worried about was the supporting cast of Edwards. The onus may be on Edwards to set up his teammates, especially if Conley has trouble getting in the lane and kicking. Edwards averaged 6.3 assists in the first round against the Suns, and we may get a chance to benefit from a low assist in game one.
