NFL Week 16: Eagles at Cowboys Odds and Best Bets

NFL WEEK 16: Eagles at Cowboys Odds and Best Bets

NFL WEEK 16: EAGLES AT COWBOYS ODDS AND BEST BETS - The Philadelphia Eagles (13-1) travel to Arlington to play the Dallas Cowboys (10-4) in a massive game of gorilla proportions. These two NFC East rivals will be battling for the division. A win for the Cowboys all but ensures they make the playoffs, while a Philly W clinches the NFC East.

Jalen Hurts won't play today due to an injury, so Gardner Minshew will get the start for the Eagles. I think this is a great spot to find some real value, but before we get to my pick, let's talk trends.

Eagles/Cowboys Betting Trends

Nate's Pick

This is a monster spot for the Cowboys, and I think it’s fair to wonder how motivated the Eagles are this afternoon.

The Eagles already have a playoff bid locked up, and they don’t have to win this week to win the NFC East. The Cowboys, however, must win if they want to stay in the hunt for a divisional title, so you know this team is going to be locked in.

I say all of this, and every time I think this team is locked in, they do something horrible that ruins my weekend. I’m still willing to risk it.

The Eagles are definitely still a threat to the Cowboys here. Their rushing attack is elite and the offensive line is the best in the league. It’s not easy for a defense to attack this team, and Dallas hasn’t been as good lately on that side of the ball owing to several injuries in the secondary.

The loss of Hurts is real though for this game and Gardner Minshew does not bring the same sort of dynamic qualities to the field. The Cowboys won’t respect his rushing ability and the reality is they shouldn’t.

I suspect that the Eagles keep things pretty basic on both sides of the ball. This game isn’t terribly important to them, so I doubt they break out their bag of tricks to steal one here. They just need to get through this week and hope that Jalen Hurts is healthy next week.

The Cowboys have shown they can have success offensively against this Philly defense. I think the Cowboys get away with a win and cover here.

Nate's Pick

Cowboys -4
