NFL Fantasy Football Week Eight Sleepers

NFL FANTASY FOOTBALL WEEK EIGHT SLEEPERS — A player gets injured, or someone breaks out and earns more opportunities. These players can make or break your fantasy season. No one can predict the future, so drafting a perfect team is out of the question.

Depth never hurts, so it is best to evaluate your roster weekly. This article is a great place to look and will feature the best waiver wire additions each week. (Rostered Percentages from ESPN)

Quarterback

Kyler Murray – 22.6% Rostered

Kyler Murray is close to returning to action and should play in week ten. He could solve some problems at quarterback, but you must add him sooner than later.

Joshua Dobbs started the season hot but has cooled down in recent weeks. The Cardinals are 1-6 and are looking at another disappointing season.

Their defense is atrocious, but that should help Murray in fantasy. He will be playing from behind a lot and should be able to increase production from the measly 180.9 passing yards per game they average.

Derek Carr – 18.4% Rostered

Carr is more of a matchup-based addition than Murray. He faces the Colts, Bears, and Vikings the next three weeks. They all give up plenty of points and are weak to the pass.

Carr has surpassed 300 yards passing for two consecutive games but is not throwing many touchdowns. The touchdowns should start going his way against these matchups, and he could find more success down the field with Chris Olave.

Running Back

Darrell Henderson – 12.2% Rostered

Zach Evans was a fool’s gold last week, and people (including myself) got duped. Darrell Henderson was brought in and immediately earned starter reps.

He played with the Rams for his entire career beginning in 2019, and he was available when they called. Henderson was familiar with the offense, and Sean McVay felt comfortable enough to give him 18 carries. He finished the game with 61 yards and a touchdown.

Given McVay’s tendency to ride the hot hand, it would make sense for Henderson to continue getting most of the opportunities until Kyren Williams returns. Williams will be out for at least three more weeks, so Henderson is likely an RB2 until then.

Emari Demercado – 15.7% Rostered

Do not go crazy and bid a lot for Demercado this week. He was the hot waiver addition heading into week six and barely played.

Then everyone dropped him, and he posted 13 attempts for 58 yards and caught four passes for 17 yards in week seven. You can add him in a pinch but do not expect a boom game from him with upcoming games against Baltimore and Cleveland.

Wide Receiver

Tank Dell – 48.3% Rostered

Dell is a player that should have higher ownership. C.J. Stroud specifically asked the Texans to draft him, but circumstances have mitigated his usage this season.

He was concussed in the first half of week five and did not return. He then missed week six because of the concussion and had a bye week the following week. You can get aggressive in pursuing him in most leagues.

Josh Downs – 34.6% Rostered

The Colts have been using Downs a lot this season. He is averaging 6.7 targets per game and is starting to see red-zone opportunities. He has seven targets inside the 20.

Michael Pittman leads the team with 65, then Downs with 47, and Alec Pierce and Kylen Granson have 25 and 26, respectively. Downs is a must-add player, as the Colts will play catch-up for the rest of the season.

Tight End

Jake Ferguson – 1.5% Rostered

The tight-end options are limited, as usual. Michael Mayer, mentioned last week, is still an option worth considering. Ferguson is another player worth adding due to his matchups.

He plays the Rams and the Eagles over the next two weeks. The Rams allow the fourth most points to tight ends, and the Eagles allow the thirteenth most points
