John Fredericks: MLB Moneyline Wagers for Wednesday, July 5

JOHN FREDERICKS:MLB MONEYLINE WAGERS FOR WEDNESDAY, JULY 5 2023 – Hope you all had a great July 4th! We have come roaring back in the last three days, going 12-4 while winning back +$780 and getting us to minus -$1,030 for the season. We have a several days to go before the break and lets get back to EVEN and keep up the winning! Lots of hot games on the card today!

The editors had the day off for the 4th of July, so I tweeted out my picks rather than write them out here. So here are those for transparency.

2023 MLB Godzilla Season Stats

178-152-1, -$1,030

*Based on all wagers at $100 per game at money or run line odds as specified in Draft Kings. Note: If money line is -$150, we are laying $150 to win $100, etc.  If we take +$130 and we win, we win $130 for our $100.

Blue Jays (-120) at White Sox

Let’s roll again with Toronto, we had a nice come-back win yesterday and I’m going with the Jays again.

Chicago’s Lance Lynn has struggled mightily this season and can’t seem to get it going. He lives and dies with the fastball, and he’s going against one of the best fast-ball hitting teams in the MLB. Lynn’s home ERA is 7.22 with opponents hitting .292 against him.

I have made a decent amount of money on Jose Berrios this season for good reason. Opponents have hit just .230 against him in his last five starts and he was lights out last start. Chicago is just not a winning ball-club right now, having dropped two of three to Oakland.

Pick: Blue Jays (-120)

DraftKings

Rocks at Astros (-200)

This is a huge line for a reason: Houston is red hot and the Rockies have lost 10 straight road games and are 13-38 in Houston. J.P. France’s numbers might not look good, but he guts out six innings start after start. The Astros bullpen got a breather yesterday and with closer Ryan Pressly and that Houston bullpen being as sharp they are–it’s a six inning-inning game. Astros lead after six, you win.

Pick: Houston (-200)

Oakland (+210) at Detroit

LMAO I am betting the A’s for first time in three years. This is a Vegas Wise-Guy protest bet. Why are the Tigers -235 against ANYBODY! They stink! The A’s have shown they have some fight in them, and this line is pure insanity. Oakland has won three of four and won seven straight in June. Take a shot with the A’s and this inflated price. It’s a joke.

Pick: Oakland (+210)

Phillies at Tampa Bay (Under 9 Runs, -105)

Get this: the Phillies are 45-31 in under games this season – go figure? The Phils Taijuan Walker has been lights out. Walker has not allowed more than one run per game in June. This is another Tampa Bay Rays nail-biter. This guy Walker gets no respect. He should start the All-Star game.

Pick: Under 9 runs (-105)

Tampa at Phillies (+115)

See above: This is a straight hot pitcher play. Good luck beating the hottest starter in the MLB tonight at home. Oh, I guess I missed the funeral…of the guy who died and left Tampa Bay king?

Pick: Phillies (+115)

O’s (-110) at Yankees

Baltimore is a playoff team that has not looked good in their last five games. Dean Kramer has gotten bombed of late, and the Yankees have won seven of 10. So stick with New York, right? No. Here’s why: the Yankees are 6-16 while coming off two wins in a row. What does that mean? They are not that good. Staunton is not hitting his weight and they really miss Judge.

O’s avoid the sweep in N.Y. and get out of the Big Apple with a win.

Pick: O’s (-110)

Angels at Padres (-170)

I caught the Padres last night and I feel the winning streak coming on! I have been waiting for this team to wake up all season. The Angels are not the same ball-club without Trout. The PODS are going on a run.

Pick: PODS (-170)

M’s (+150) at Giants

Wow, I told you the Mariners would get hot and get back in the AL West race. They’ve spun off four in a row, while the Giants have dropped four straight. The M’s Tommy Milone has kept Seattle in games, while Alex Cobb has been getting hammered. P.S. How on earth am I getting +150?

Pick: Mariners (+150)

Mets (EVEN) at D-Backs

Are the Mets showing signs of life and getting off the mat? They’ve won three straight and are trying to avoid a fire sale at trade deadline. Rumors that Justin Verlander will go back to Houston have surfaced, with the Mets hedge fund owner Steve Cohen paying the bulk of his inflated salary: LMFAO!!

Pick: Mets (EVEN)

Pirates at Dodgers (Under 9 runs, EVEN)

No analysis needed. Too many runs for good starting pitching in Chavez Ravine.

Pick: Under 9.0 Runs (EVEN)
