PL Matchweek 25: Tottenham Hotspur vs. Chelsea

PL MATCHWEEK 25: TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR VS. CHELSEA – This Sunday will be the London Derby between Tottenham and Chelsea.

Tottenham have not had much success against Chelsea, but Chelsea are currently really struggling to find any kind of form and the pressure continues to mount on Manager Graham Potter as he finds his team winless in their previous 4 Premier League matches.

A big game this weekend at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will bsee London rivals Tottenham and Chelsea face off. I expect this to be a tightly contested match.

Tottenham have been streaky this season, but somehow miraculously find themselves in the top 4 of the table.

What hasn’t been streaky for Tottenham this season is their ability to score goals. They have only been held scoreless in 3 of their 24 total Premier League games.

As a team they rank 3rd in goals scored in the Premier League and their leading goal scorer, Harry Kane, ranks 2nd in the league. Kane has scored in 63% of Tottengam’s games this season (15 games).

Potter’s Last Stand

Meanwhile, the pressure continues to build on Chelsea’s manager Graham Potter.

In a run of 14 games, Chelsea have only managed to get 2 wins and have a 2W-6D-6L record during that time. Chelsea have spent the money, but are still finding it difficult to score goals. In their past 14 games they have only scored 8 goals and have been shut out 7 times.

This horrible Chelsea run is all because of their inability to score goals.

Their defense has remained strong this season and they rank 2nd in the league in fewest goals conceded. Chelsea’s great defense against Tottenham’s high flying offense.

Tottenham’s shaky defense against Chelsea’s struggling offense. This should be interesting.

Tips

  • Tottenham have won their 2 previous home games.
  • Chelsea are unbeaten in their last 8 fixtures against Tottenham.
  • Chelsea will likely see the returns of Mykhaylo Mudryk, Raheem Sterling, Kai Havertz, Thiago Silva, Reece James, and N’Golo Kante.

PREDICTION: TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR 2 – 2 CHELSEA
