JOHNNY’S QUICK PICKS MARCH 29, 2024

MORGANTOWN, West Virginia– It’s Good Friday! “For God So Loved the World He Sent His Only Son, so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

We are off to a great start on MLB (4-2) and we crushed another NCAA Dance bet last night on Illinois. I’ve lost two hockey plays in a row so no way I go down three! Lots of action this Easter weekend and we got the juice! Let’s go!

MLB BABY!

Yankees at Astros (-125)

Bronx Bombers came back from a 4-0 deficit with the help of Astros hurlers allowing nine walks and a HBP. If not for a laser throw by Juan Soto, Houston still wins this game.  Christian Javier has looked great all spring. It’s baseball bounce back day for the ‘Stros.

Pick: Houston (-125)

Pirates at Marlins (-130)

I love the Marlins’ A.J. Puk. He’s a big, crafty lefty who has put up some nasty numbers.

Last season, he averaged 11 K’s per nine innings and this spring that soared to 15. While I like the Bucs this season, I’ve never been an April fan of Martin Perez; it takes him a while to get going.

Pick: Marlins (-130)

BoSox at M’s (-130)

I really like this kid George Kirby at home tonight to even this series up. He might just be a Cy Young candidate in 2024. Seattle is a very well-balanced team and is a tough draw at home.

Pick: Seattle (-130)

Cards at Dodgers (-210)

Cardinals are this early season’s clown show in a tree. Another young gun I like is the Tinsels’ Bobby Miller. The Cards are a great fade. They are in no man’s land, between a full fledged rebuild and a hanger around because our division sucks.

Pick: Dodgers (-210)

College Hoops

Houston (-4) Vs. Duke

Well, I have picked against Duke in big games all season. Why stop now? Either Houston is for real or not. Duke has been soft all season, and a few easy wins don’t change that.

Pick: Houston (-4)

NHL

New Jersey at Buffalo (+120)

Buffalo just got waxed by a lousy Ottawa team. I read they allowed 42 shots. Is that even fathomable? Then, Buffalo defenseman Connor Clifton popped off the to the local media and described their poor start and the overall performance as “unacceptable.”

No Sh*t, Sherlock!

The Sabres are (usually) a good team who routinely beats bad teams (like NJ).

Pick: Buffalo (+120)
