John Fredericks: Rays at Blue Jays MLB Picks

John Fredericks: Rays at Blue Jays MLB Expert Pick - April 14, 2023

JOHN FREDERICKS: RAYS AT BLUE JAYS MLB EXPERT PICK - Tough day for us yesterday going 0-2 and -$220. TGIF!

Godzilla MLB Record 2023

8-6 +$82 for the Season

*Based on all wagers at $100 per game at money or run line odds as specified in Draft Kings. Note: If money line is -150 we are laying $150 to win $100, etc.  If we take +130 and we win, we win $130 for our $100.

Friday, April 14

Rays (+110) at Jays, 7:07 EST

How many games can the Rays win in a row? 162?

I like Toronto at home handing Tampa Bay their first loss of the season tonight. But I said that yesterday too and got whacked upside the head.

Tampa Bay has hit just .246 as a team lifetime against Jose Berrios with an on-base percentage of .258 and slugging percentage of just .311.

Toronto has held opponents to just three runs per game against them at home with opponents hitting .184 against them with an on-base percentage of .273.

They just crapped the bed last night and managed one run against the worst team in the American League: Hinch's Tigers.

Opponents have hit .252 against Tampa Bay on the road, averaging 3.3 runs per game against them and Toronto has averaged 5 runs per game against righty starters while hitting .283 as a team with an on-base percentage of .345.

Tampa Bay beat up Oakland, Washington, Detroit and a hapless Boston bunch. Now the real work starts. Tonight they face a real MLB contending team.

Pick: Blue Jays (+110)

Angels (-115) at Boston, 7:10 EST

The Red Sox look downright pathetic. This has the makings of a last place team with a mid-season managerial change. They just got smoke-swept by Tampa and their pitching staff is a shambles.

Now they return to Fenway to face another hot team in the Angels.

Patrick Sandoval has been outstanding this season with a 1-0 record and a 1.64 E.R.A.

The Angels are 4-1 in their last 5 road games.

 Pick: Angels (-115)

Mets (-225) at Oakland, 9:40 EST

I don’t often lay big prices -- but when I do it’s against the A’s.

The Mets are 7-6 this season taking two of three at home over the Padres.

New York is coming off a rest day and a long flight headed into tonight's matchup.

Meanwhile, Oakland just lost an exhausting walk off 8-7 loss to Baltimore.

Oakland hasn't had an off day since April 6th. That’s eight days. The team is tired and the bullpen needs a break. What bullpen, you ask? Yup.

The Mets Kodai Senga is 2-0, 11.1 innings pitched, 1.59 ERA and 14 strikeouts. Yikes.

Senda is having a tremendous start to the 2023 season. Lay the price. Lights out on the Bay.

Pick: Mets -225

John's Picks

Mets ML (-225)

Angels ML (-115)

Blue Jays (+110)
