NFL – Playoffs!

We underestimated the Texans and Stroud yesterday and over-estimated the Browns defense. We took that loss in stride: bet Cleveland in the playoffs and get burned. We rebounded by nailing the Chiefs, who we knew would expose the Dolphins for the frauds they are. So let’s forget that Browns debacle and go 2-0 today!

Packers at Dallas (-7) 

Green Bay backed in to the playoffs and has not exactly been the juggernaut some expected. Meanwhile the Eagles season ending implosion allowed Dallas to win the division crown and get a home game. The Cowboys have been virtually unbeatable at home. While no one likes to lay a touchdown in the playoffs, does anyone really think Green Bay goes to Dallas and wins this game? A loss by the Cowboys in this game would end Mike McCarthy’s tenure and sink the franchise.

Pick: Dallas (-7)

Rams at Detroit (-3)

The Rams are on a roll, winners of five of six and they have their injured players back. The wise guys are all over the Rams here. Who can forget that Thanksgiving game where Detroit got blown out by the Packers. Many have their heart with the Lions, being what they’ve been through and this being their first playoff game in 31 years.

The back story on Jared Goff is one of retribution, as the Rams gave up on him.

On the flip side, Matthew Stafford knows Ford Field well, and he has all his weapons.

The bottom lines is strength of schedule. LA has not done well against good teams, and got into the playoffs when they played a SF team that nothing to play for. They almost lost to the Giants several weeks ago.

Home teams in this round have been golden. I’m going with Detroit and the hype at home. Like Houston, this team may be better than we think.
