Johnny’s Quick Picks

Wow, we won a nice OT game after mid-night this morning when Tampa squeaked by Seattle. Nothing better than going to bed tied and waking up a winner!

NFL

Lions (-3) at Bears

The Lions roared back last week after their Thanksgiving Day meltdown at home. This is an over-matched Bears team with more questions than answers. With the Pack on fire, Detroit needs this game to stay on top of the division.

 Pick: Lions (-3)

 Rams at Ravens (-7.5)

L.A. flew across the country to face a very loose Ravens bunch that just saw their divisional competition implode. Now they have set their sites on a number one seed and first round bye.

 Pick: Ravens (-7.5)

 Charlotte at Saints (-5.5)

New Orleans is still in the divisional hunt, while the Panthers are playing to give the Bears a number one pick. Bryce Young looks terrible right now, and Carolina has the worst O-Line this side of Nashville.

 Pick: Saints (-5.5)

 Bill (+2) at Chiefs

Wow. Kansas City is not playing very well. What’s wrong? This is a very dangerous game for them. The Bills are the great mystery team. Who knows? Buffalo needs a signature win.

Pick: Bills (+2)

 Eagles at Dallas (-3)

I have said all season the Eagles defense is a huge liability, especially at linebacker. They got exposed last week at home by the ‘Niners. Kevin Bayard, who the Eagles got from Tennessee mid-season for a carton of Camels and six-pack of Diet Coke, looks like he lost a step. He’s made no impact. Maybe the Titans saw this coming?

Meanwhile the Cowboys offense is on fire. Who can stop them? Not the Eagles. At home, Dallas is a different team.

 Pick: Dallas (-3)

 NHL

San Jose at Las Vegas (-1.5)

The Sharks had a couple of tough come from behind wins, coming from down three goals on back to back nights. Boy, that’s tough!

Tonight is San Jose’s final road game of a six-game whirlwind road trip. They’ve been all over the continent. They just had two days off to party in Vegas. They want to go home. Their bags are packed and already on the plane. This team is not that good to start with.

Vegas has scored 12 goals in their last two games on the road. They come home now rested, tanned and ready. This is a best bet scenario.

Pick: Vegas (-1.5 goals)
