Well, it was bound to happen! I went 0-3, the first time I’ve had an 0-for this season. Two losses were big chalk, so we dropped a whopping minus -$510. Yikes.
Not to worry, today is a new day – time to go 3-0 and start another hot streak. We are still up plus +$815 so we have a lot of juice to work with.
Cards (-125) at Cubs
Both teams are basically abysmal so we look for a split of a four game series, with the Cubs up 2 games to 1. The Cards new ace Jordan Montgomery is one of my favorite starters this season, he always gives a solid seven innings. I hope the Astros get him at the deadline. He’s not allowed more than three earned runs in a game since June 14.
The Cubs Jameson Taillon has been hammered all season long. Cards need a split at Wrigley to avoid the fire sale mantra coming from the St. Louis beat writers.

O’s at Rays (-150)
Down 5-0 last night, the Rays came roaring back, only to lose 6-5. This is a big game for the once red-hot Rays – now cold as ice. They have a losing record in July, and the Birdies just knocked them off their wire to wire first place perch in the A.L. East. This is a big game for Kevin Cash’s crew at home. They need to win this series.
Taj Bradley has been nasty against Baltimore this season, allowing only three hits and one run over six innings. For some reason, the Birds are hitting .172 in domes this season! Go figure. I’m going with the Rays to prove they are not the second-half faders we think they are. Their bullpen has been very good at home.
Pick: Rays (-150)
 Royals at Yankees (-195)
 I lost two -190’s games last night, so it’ easy to get gun shy and go home to mommy. If you are going to bet these lines once in a while you can’t be afraid. The Yankees can’t pretend to be contenders and lose games to Kansas City in the Bronx.
The Royals are 28-72 on the season, they have lost four straight and 13 of their last 16 games. Today they throw Jordan Lyles, who is 1-11.
This is a must sweep series for New York. Luis Severino threw a nice, neat six innings against Anaheim last week—might be a turning point. Yanks need a shot in the arm and some home cooking!
