Everton vs. Tottenham Hotspur Expert Pick – April 3rd, 2023

EVERTON VS. TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR EXPERT PICK – APRIL 3rd 2023 – Go ahead, call off work now, grab a seat at your favorite neighborhood bar, and take advantage of happy hour for this sure to be exciting weekday game. This Monday Everton will be facing off against Tottenham Hotspur at Goodison Park.

Everton played well in their last match against Chelsea and were able to walk away with a 2-2 draw. However, they will still be seen as underdogs in this one. Everton still remain safe from relegation but not by much. They’ll have to continue their 3 game unbeaten streak if they want to stay that way though.

Tottenham played out a thriller in their last match with a 3-3 draw against last place Southampton, which led to the sacking of manager Antonio Conte. Cristian Stellini will be tasked with leading the team as Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy searches for a long term replacement.

Tottenham do tend to struggle away from home and Sean Dyche has given his Everton team some grit this season, so this has potential for an exciting game.

Pitch: Everton – Goodison Park, Liverpool, England

Current PL Form: | Everton (LLDWD) | Tottenham (WWLWD) |

Last PL Match: | Chelsea 2 – 2 Everton | | Southampton 3 – 3 Tottenham |

Head to Head:

Head to Head

Draft Kings Moneyline Odds: | HOME: +230 | TIE: +230 | AWAY: +115 |

Prop Bets

| Under 2.5 Total Goals (-135) |

Tottenham do score goals, whether it be away games or home games. 8 of their 13 away games have produced more than 2.5 goals. However, Everton tend to keep a tight formation in the back when playing at home and they don’t have a lot of goals in them. 9 of Everton’s 14 away games and 5 of the last 7 Premier League meetings between these two teams have produced less than 2.5 goals. I’m expecting a low scoring affair here.

| Harry Kane to Score Anytime (+115) |

Harry Kane to score is usually a pretty safe bet. He is currently in 2nd place as leading scorer with a total of 21 goals in the Premier League this season. He is averaging 0.75 goals per game and has scored in 3 of his previous 4 Premier League starts.

Tips

  • Tottenham: Ben Davis, Emerson Royal, Rodrigo Bentancur, and Yves Bissouma are all ruled out for this game.
  • Everton: Andros Townsend is Everton’s only confirmed absentee for this match.
  • Tottenham have not lost a league game at Goodison Park since 2012.
  • Tottenham are winless in their last 3 Premier League away games.
  • Everton are unbeaten in their last 3 Premier League games and have won 3 of their last 4 homes games.

The Word

Everton are coming into this game as underdogs but you can’t necessarily count them out. Everton have won 3 of their 4 home games under new manager Sean Dyche, all by a 1-0 scoreline, indicating a desire to sit back and make their opponents work to find a goal. Everton are averaging 38% ball possession under manager Sean Dyche. Will the interim Tottenham manager find a plan to work the ball and break down Everton’s stubborn defense?

I do feel like Tottenham will find a goal, but I also think Everton will as well. Tottenham has already allowed 40 goals this campaign, which is just as many as they allowed all last season. Tottenham’s away form has also been rather poor. They have lost 3 of their last 5 away games in the Premier League and have just as many losses as wins when playing away from home.

PREDICTION: EVERTON 1 – 1 TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR
