COLUMBUS CREW VS. NASHVILLE SC EXPERT PICK – JUNE 24, 2023 – The Columbus Crew are on an excellent run of form and are currently on a four game unbeaten streak. The Crew Bega this streak immediately after their previous 3-1 loss against Nashville SC.

They have a high power offense and are currently the second highest scoring team in the MLS, averaging 2.0 goals per game.  Columbus are excellent at home but they will have their work cut out for them as they face one of the best defenses in the MLS.

Nashville’s 10 game unbeaten streak and club record came to an end in their midweek match against CF Montreal. This Saturday they will look to get back on track in another away game against Eastern Conference rivals Columbus Crew.

NASHVILLE SC

So far this season Nashville has 10 wins, 5 draws, and 4 losses and they find themselves still in 2nd place in the Eastern Conference standings. After their previous 1-0 loss against CF Montreal they find themselves 8 points behind Eastern Conference leaders Cincinnati, who seem to be in a league of their own at the moment.

Nashville saw numerous opportunities completely wasted against CF Montreal and were unable to get on the scoresheet.

However, they still have the league’s leading scorer in Hany Mukhtar and they are still ranked as the top defense in the MLS. Unfortunately for them, they have conceded at least 1 goal in 11 of their previous 12 matches.

They have only allowed their opponent over 1 goal on one occasion this entire season but if they want to stay on Cincinnati’s heels they will need to figure out how to get some clean sheets. Not sure that’s going to happen against the high powered Columbus offense on away turf though. 

COLUMBUS CREW

Columbus have 8W-4D-6L so far this season and currently stand 6th in the Eastern Conference MLS Standings. They are currently on a 4 game unbeaten streak but were unable to see out their lead as they conceded the game tying goal against NYCFC in the 94th minute.

The Crew’s previous 4 game unbeaten streak earlier this season ended with 2 consecutive losses. Will they be able to prevent history from rewriting itself? When playing at home Columbus are a force to be reckoned with and have only lost once this season at Historic Crew Stadium.

Columbus currently have a 1 point lead over Orlando City and will be aiming to retain their spot in the top 7.

In their past 4 MLS games they have managed 10 goals but have also conceded 6. Columbus have been a bit unpredictable this season having both multi game unbeaten streaks followed by multi game winless streaks.
