Week 5 College Football Analyst Standings

The (Sort of) Good

We write in from our college football bunker of bets to lay our results at the altar of DraftKings. Your favorite sports handicappers tried to get on track with Week 5’s version of comeback sauce. You can read our Week 5 Nate’s Pick Six here, but you might be better served placing your hand on a hot stove.

I went 4-3 for the week, with a very nice call on the Michigan spread and the under. I don’t see how anyone could take Iowa for the rest of the season unless Vegas is willing to give you forty points against the spread. That offense is historically bad.

We also kept it moving with another beautiful week of Kansas football. The Jayhawks continue to cruise through defenses with a rising star at QB in Jalon Daniels. Their schedule gets considerably more difficult from here, but I see no reason why you shouldn’t consider 18/1 odds for them to win the Big 12. They will probably falter, but have looked like a true football Cinderella story thus far

The Bad

Paul DePalma had a tough week with many of his picks, but we like to highlight the good on this website, because there’s always room to grow. While he went 2-5 for the week, he’s 4-6 on the year. One strong weekend and he’s back in the green.

Paul did the smart thing and took Kanas plus the points. We respect him for that.

He also took Boise State in a bloodbath. The San Diego State Aztecs could not keep up and Paul won that game easily. We think he’s due for a big Saturday this weekend.

The Ugly

#NoPickNate may need to go back to his roots. He picked 6 games and one under and went 1-7.

Nate emerged victorious in a scorching hot NFL Sunday, but we’re worried about his feel for the college game. The man promises us he’ll work hard this week. He’s got some film on UMass that he’s picking apart as we speak. If you don’t hear from him by Thursday, just tweet out #NateNeedsHelp and we’ll see if he turns up.
