Paul’s Picks for College Football Week 10: LSU, Stanford Prevail

Tough Times for Your Guy

It was a tough week. Some good teams let me down.  I see some really good value this week with a lot of home teams catching points. Home field always makes a difference in college football. Let’s get to it.

All odds courtesy of DraftKings as of 11/3.

Standings

Thru Week 9 Records Wins Losses Push Winning %
Paul 14 14 1 48%
Jack 26 33 0 44%
Nate 27 32 2 44%

Washington State Cougars at Stanford Cardinals (+4.5) (o/u 49.5)

When I look at these two teams, I see more impressive wins for the Cardinals.  Take the points here on a Pac-12 conference game of two very even teams. Pick: Cardinals +4.5.

#6 Alabama Crimson Tide at #15 LSU Tigers (+13.5) (o/u 56.5)

LSU is at home in the swamp Saturday night against their rival Alabama for first place in the SEC West. This line looks way too high. I would have expected 3 or 7.  I look forward to watching this game because it should be a great one.  This is the season right here for LSU. If they win, they go to the SEC championship. It should be close. Pick: Tigers +13.

Texas Longhorns at #13 Kansas State Wildcats (+2.5) (o/u 54.5)

Kansas State is +2.5 at home vs Texas Sat 7:00. Kansas State is the better team, as they are more consistent compared to Texas.  The Wildcats have a better record and just destroyed Oklahoma State last week.  Texas lost to the Cowboys two weeks ago.  This line makes no sense. This is good value here catching points. Pick: Wildcats +2.5

#5 Clemson Tigers at Notre Dame Fighting Irish (+3.5) (o/u 44)

Notre Dame faces off at home vs Clemson this Saturday at 7:30 pm. I just don’t see how the Tigers deserve a #5 ranking. The ACC is just not as good as the other conferences. All year I thought Clemson would lose one, if not two, games, and they have pulled out close wins in OT. I think this week they will go down on the road. Pick: Irish +3.5

James Madison Dukes at Louisville Cardinals (-7.5) (o/u 52.5)

This is the one game where I’m laying points, but look at the matchup.  After the Cardinals just beat Wake Forest last week, this should be a cake walk against the Dukes. Pick: Cardinals -7.5
