FSU +4 over LSU
Brian Kelly this and Brian Kelly that, blah blah blah- whatever, dude.
No doubt Kelly will be successful at LSU, but it’s going to take some time. LSU was down to 39 scholarship players after a mass exodus before its bowl game last season. Kelly gets the reins of a very young team with just six returning starters, so I believe it will take a couple of games to get the plan going.
FSU returns 15 starters, but the level of success they enjoy in 2022 will be up to QB Jordan Travis, who has underperformed during his first two seasons. He’s got one more shot.
The Seminoles are loaded at running back–they rushed for 178 yards per game last season and racked up 407 vs. Duquesne last week. Three yards and a cloud of dust. LSU wears down in the second half.
No way I’m laying 4 on a neutral field on a team with a ton of question marks. Take the points, FSU wins the whole game. Get the chains out!
Clemson -23.5 over Georgia Tech
GA Tech is pitiful, battling with Virginia Tech as the worst team in the ACC. This is a blowout.
Clemson went 10-3 last year but got shut out of the playoffs. This is a statement game right out of the gate.
It’s win it all or bust for the Tigers in 2022. Winning the ACC is an afterthought.
The Tigers and Dabo Swinney are an angry bunch. Most of the fans in Atlanta will be for Clemson, making the 2 hour drive on a holiday weekend. Bars close at 2:00 AM.
