The odds are a little funky here. You know it isn’t really an awesome field when Ludvig Aberg, Stephen Jaeger and Eric Cole are the headliners on the board at odds under +2000. Ludvig Aberg is a legitimate stud, and probably should be the favorite here, but I don’t see looming superstardom for the other two. 

For this iteration of the Irish Open, I’ll be looking at guys who have excelled in this tournament in the past and I’ll be looking for guys who have solid form coming into this week. Ideally, we’ll be able to find guys who can combine history and current form to get our best wagers for the week.

This course favors guys who don’t wow with their ability off the tee, but tend to do everything else well. Past winners have been Kevin Kisner, Tom Kim, Si Woo Kim, and J.T. Poston to name a few. All of those guys can broadly be put in the same category of players who tend to excel at shorter courses where precision is prized over power.

Si Woo Kim has long been the darling of stats nerds and golf bettors. He cashes at long prices when he wins, and when he’s clicking, he has enough game to go all the way with the game’s elite.
